2025

1st Place in Cost and Manufacturing
The objective of the Cost and Manufacturing event is to evaluate the team’s
understanding of the manufacturing processes, costs and greenhouse gas emissions
associated with the construction of a prototype race car. The team is judged on the content,
completeness and realism of the project.
Racing Pride Aston Martin F1 – Diversity and Inclusion Award (See Article)
Racing Pride and Aston Martin F1 have once again recognised Formula Trinity for our
consistent, excellent approach to diversity and inclusion within our team.
2nd Place in Autonomous Racing Design
The Autonomous Design event aims to evaluate the engineering process and effort that
the team have put into the design and development of their AI system. As well as their
understanding of the vehicle and the algorithms deployed by the software.
2nd Place in Internal Combustion Design
The design event aims to evaluate the team’s design process, the understanding and
effort that went into the design of the vehicle.
2nd Overall Place in Concept Class
When entering Concept Class, teams participate only in static events with the goal of
ultimately providing an FS Class entry in a future competition. Overall Concept Class events are
judged on: lap time simulation, business plan presentation, cost and manufacturing and
engineering design.

TATA ELXSI FS-AI Class Autonomous Design Winner
This award, backed by design and technology service provider Tata Elxsi, recognises a
team’s innovative work in autonomous design.

2023

FS-AI Class Real World AI Runner Up
Placed second in the Statics Real World application of AI when presenting the uses for ou inovations
One of 20/63 cars to pass 5/6 stages of scrutineering
Scrutineering tests make sure that teams and their cars are following technical
regulations and standards. It is judged under the following criteria: safety (driver’s equipment,
steering, suspension, brakes, driver’s harness), chassis, tech, fuel (incl. tilt) and noise (inclbrake performance). Only after passing scrutineering is a vehicle eligible to participate in
dynamic events.
2022

FS-AI Class Real World AI Winner
Formula Student continuously promoted the development of AI and autonomous
systems within its competition. The Real World AI event focuses on a team’s understanding of
real world challenges for autonomous vehicles and their solutions. The win is awarded to the
team with the highest points.
Alan Staniforth Award – Best Newcomer
This award is given to the best Class 1 teams who are competing for the first time.
Named after the British journalist and engineer, it recognises his involvement and contributions
to the Formula Student competition and aims to motivate others to take up the same path.
Racing Pride Aston Martin – Diversity and Inclusion Award
This joint award from Racing Pride and Aston Martin recognises a team’s approach and
promotion of diversity and inclusion in their activities, innovations and integrations with their
university’s inclusion efforts. The winning team enjoys an exclusive tour to the Aston Martin
Aramco F1 team Technology Campus.
